Plant Information
Perfectly round, richly red, and bright white inside, Early Scarlet Globe radishes have been a reliable, prolific, and rapid grower since the late 1800s. Their sweet and spicy flavor and crisp, juicy texture will definitely add some colorful zest to your summer salads, and they're great for storing through the winter too. Early Scarlet Globe radishes are very easy to grow and extremely quick to mature, with seedlings emerging in as little as a few days and mature radishes ready in as little as 3 weeks. This makes them a superb choice for successive sowings. Simply plant a new crop every 2-3 weeks from very early spring to mid-summer and you'll enjoy heavy yields of these radiant red radishes all season long. While extremely tolerant of cold weather and frosts, Early Scarlet Globe radishes don't do well in extreme heat, so plant about two months before any fall frosts if you want a crop for winter storage. This variety will also self-sow, so deadhead them often to keep unwanted crops from becoming invasive.
